🦃 Faith, Family, and Four Paws: A Thanksgiving Reflection
Thanksgiving looks different for everyone — some gather around a long table, some around a campfire, and some simply gather close to the people and animals they love most. But no matter how you spend it, the heart of Thanksgiving is the same: gratitude for what God has done, and trust for what He’ll do next.
There’s a sacred kind of quiet that settles in right before a Thanksgiving meal.
The smell of food.
The sound of laughter.
The dog stretched out near your feet, content just being close.
It’s in those small, ordinary moments that God reminds us of the extraordinary blessings He’s given us — blessings we sometimes walk right past without even noticing.
Because Thanksgiving isn’t about how much is on the table.
It’s about who’s around it.
It’s the friend who checks in.
The family who shows up.
And the loyal dog who curls up beside you without needing a reason.
Dogs have a way of bringing us back to what matters: presence, loyalty, and simple joy. They don’t worry about tomorrow. They don’t replay yesterday. They just stay close and enjoy the moment — and sometimes that’s the greatest reminder of faith we’ll ever get.
God never promised that every season would be easy.
But He did promise His love would endure forever.
And that alone is a reason to give thanks.

This year, take a moment to slow down. Step outside before dinner. Feel the cool air, breathe deep, and let your dog wander a few steps ahead. Look around at the sky, the trees, the life God has placed in front of you — and know that He’s been faithful through it all.
At Abiding Paws, we’re thankful for you — for every man walking the trail with his loyal companion, trying his best to lead his family with faith, courage, and integrity. You’re the heartbeat of this community.
From our family to yours:
Happy Thanksgiving. May your day be filled with peace, purpose, and four paws by your side.

Trail Reflection

Before you sit down to eat, take a short walk with your dog. Feel the crunch of leaves, watch the sky shift colors, and thank God for the blessings you’ve already seen — and the ones still on their way.
Gratitude makes room for courage.
